Veterinary Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a hard-working and self-motivated Veterinary Assistant with 1-3 years of experience to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will work evenings and weekends, demonstrate reliability and responsibility, and possess excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtaining client history
• Auxiliary work in exam rooms
• Client education
• Administering injections
• Obtaining digital radiographs
• Performing treatments as directed by doctors
• Preparing samples for outside laboratories
• Conducting in-house bloodwork
• Prepping patients for surgery
• Maintaining anesthesia monitoring

Requirements

• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Team player mentality
• Computer skills, especially with electronic medical records
• Experience with Ezyvet is preferred but not required
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Physical stamina to meet job requirements
• Knowledgeable in teamwork and working with all levels of the hospital team

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current CPR certification
• Current first aid certification
