About the role

Practice Independence Animal Hospital is proud to serve the Independence, KS area for everything pet-related. Our practice is a full-service mixed-animal hospital and will see routine appointments, surgical cases as well as offer acupuncture services. Our in-house capabilities include digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, ultrasound, cold laser, indoor stocks, outdoor pen area, hydraulic tilt chute, and an OB chute. Our doctors are supported by our experienced credentialed technicians, assistants, and practice manager.

Responsibilities

• Aid veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatment
• Maintain inventory and prepare prescriptions
• Monitor hospitalized pets
• Perform routine in-house laboratory work
• Provide client education regarding veterinary care and procedures
• Assist with surgical procedures

Requirements/Qualifications

• Ability to work on weekends as required
• Previous veterinary experience preferred
• Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
• Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
• Basic math and the ability to calculate medication dosages
• Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS office applications, etc.
• Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety

USD $14.00 - USD $16.00 /Hr.
