The Hospital for Veterinary Surgery (HVS) is a cutting-edge surgical hospital in New York City, offering exceptional surgical care in a supportive environment. We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to surgical and hospitalized patients
- Aid doctors and technicians in creating a seamless client and patient appointment experience
- Handle and restrain patients during consultations and sample collection
- Manage and organize patient sample submissions to in-house and external laboratories
- Clean and stock appointment exam rooms and treatment areas
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant in general practice, emergency, or specialty settings
- Experience using practice management software (e.g., ezyVet)
- Adaptability and a positive attitude towards clients and colleagues
- Sound judgment and ethical behavior
- Dedication to excellent service and respect for coworkers
- Flexibility and a willingness to learn and contribute

Continuing Education
Veterinary Assistants are eligible for unlimited CE registration reimbursement and support from the company to complete required externships. Upon graduation, they will also receive assistance with the VTNE exam and licensure fees.
Penn Foster
Full-time Veterinary Assistants can advance their careers through the fully sponsored Penn Foster Veterinary Technician Degree Program, which covers up to four semesters of tuition and provides support throughout the process. After graduation, the company covers VTNE exam and licensure fees with no post-graduation work commitment required.
