Practice Established in 1954, Harper Woods Veterinary Hospital offers your companion pets a modern, well equipped hospital with comfortable patient quarters and state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment facilities. We are conveniently located on the East side of Harper Avenue between Allard Ave and Eight Mile Rd at 20102 Harper Avenue in Harper Woods, Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Aid veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatment
• Maintain inventory and prepare prescriptions
• Monitor hospitalized pets
• Perform routine in-house laboratory work
• Provide client education regarding veterinary care and procedures
• Assist with surgical procedures

Requirements/Qualifications

• Ability to work on weekends as required
• Previous veterinary experience preferred
• Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
• Knowledge of OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
• Basic math and the ability to calculate medication dosages
• Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS office applications, etc.
• Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety
