Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and treatments.
- Handle and restrain animals safely and humanely.
- Prepare and clean examination rooms, surgical areas, and equipment.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinary staff.
- Monitor and record vital signs and patient behavior.
- Absorb and record patient records and assist with data entry.
- Provide compassionate care and support to animals and their owners.
- Assist with laboratory work, including sample collection and processing.
- Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation protocols.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a related role preferred.
- Knowledge of animal care and handling techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassion for animals and commitment to their well-being.
- Basic computer skills for record keeping.
- Ability to lift and restrain animals as needed.
