Veterinary Assistant at All God's Creatures

About the role

Practice All God’s Creatures Veterinary Hospital was established in 2015 by Dr. Scarlett Timmons and her family with the goal of providing full-service quality veterinary services at an affordable cost. All God’s Creatures specializes in preventative medication, and we are passionate about educating the public on heartworm prevention, vaccination, and spay and neutering. We also are passionate about animal rescue and welcome the local animal rescue groups who need veterinary services.

Responsibilities

• Assists the veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatment
• Maintains inventory
• Prepares prescriptions
• Performs routine in-house laboratory work
• Educates clients regarding veterinary care and procedures
• Aids in surgical procedures

Requirements/Qualifications

• Ability to work on weekends as required
• Previous veterinary experience preferred
• Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
• Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
• Basic math and the ability to calculate medication dosages
• Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS office applications, etc.
• Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety

Pay

Pay Range: USD $14.00 - USD $16.00 /Hr.
