Veterinarian Technician/Assistant

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our veterinary team in Oviedo, FL. The ideal candidate will assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to our animal patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout their visit.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms, surgical areas, and equipment.
• Collect and process laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and feces.
• Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
• Monitor and record vital signs and patient progress.
• Provide compassionate care and support to animals before, during, and after procedures.
• Educate pet owners on post-treatment care, nutrition, and general health.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with inventory management.
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a veterinary technician program preferred.
• Previous experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of animal care and medical terminology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
