About the role

Anderson Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Medical Director to join the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. Serving the Anderson and greater Redding region of Northern California.

Responsibilities

• Drive positive change and growth in the hospital
• Shape medical standards and foster an exceptional culture
• Mentor veterinarians and maintain high standards of patient and client care
• Guide medical direction, develop medical protocols, and oversee medical quality
• Collaborate with hospital leadership to support operational excellence
• Provide high-quality medical and surgical care to patients
• Manage, direct, and oversee the medical, surgical, and client service performance of veterinarians
• Establish, review, and uphold medical standards, protocols, and best practices
• Monitor doctor-specific KPIs related to medical quality and patient care
• Review medical records to ensure accuracy and adherence to hospital standards
• Oversee case management, medical decision-making, and quality of care
• Mentor and support associate veterinarians and clinical teams
• Promote continuing education and clinical growth for veterinary teams
• Stay current on advances in veterinary medicine and regulatory requirements
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and ethical guidelines

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree required
• State Veterinary Board License and must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, prior to their start date
• Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible
• Proven clinical experience in companion animal veterinary medicine
• Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and decision-making skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Pay

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience with Quarterly PROSAL bonuses, Medical Director Stipend, Full-time salary range starting at $160,000/year. The actual salary offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Plus, no negative accrual.

Schedule

The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
