Veterinarian, Medical Director

Responsibilities

• Drive positive change and growth by shaping the vision, fostering an exceptional culture, and maintaining high standards of care.
• Partner with the practice manager and leadership team to develop strategies, implement improvements, and guide the hospital towards excellence in patient and client care.
• Mentor support staff and veterinarians, supporting their growth and development.
• Support and mentor veterinarians at your hospital toward achieving medical excellence and enhancing patient care and outcomes through close collaboration with practice managers and hospital leadership.
• Utilize leadership training resources and mentorship programs to develop your skills and advance your career.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree required.
• State Veterinary Board License and must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, prior to their start date.
• Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible.
• Strong surgical and clinical experience required, including comfort with performing routine and advanced soft tissue procedures.

Qualifications

• Passion for mentorship, collaboration, and positive team leadership preferred.
• Previous leadership experience is welcomed, but veterinarians seeking their first Medical Director opportunity are encouraged to apply.

Skills

• Comfortable performing routine and advanced soft tissue procedures, including mass removals, pyometras, cystotomies, enucleations, and foreign body surgeries.
