About the role
Highland Veterinary Hospital is seeking a veterinarian to join their team as either the Chief of Staff or an associate. The practice is known for its positive work environment and state-of-the-art facilities including ultrasound, cool laser therapy, digital x-ray, and in-house lab equipment.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate and high-quality veterinary care for companion animals
- Participate in team meetings to discuss patient cases and develop treatment plans
- Assist in the training and development of new veterinarians and support staff
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the clinic, including scheduling appointments and managing inventory
- Lead the team in providing exceptional customer service to clients
- Support the practice's commitment to community-based veterinary care
Requirements
- Experience in veterinary medicine is preferred, but not required for a confident new graduate
- Experience with exotics is a plus, but not necessary as the practice has previously handled such cases
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA accredited school
- Current license to practice veterinary medicine in Michigan
- Passing scores on the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE)
