About the role

As our Exotic Animal Veterinarian, you’ll provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for a wide range of species while working alongside an experienced and collaborative team of veterinary professionals. You’ll have the opportunity to build and expand exotic pet services in a supportive multispecialty environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized care for exotic companion animals including rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, birds, reptiles, hamsters, and other small mammals.
  • Collaborate closely with teams in general practice, neurology, emergency & critical care, oncology, and surgery.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities such as digital radiography, CT, MRI, endoscopy, and advanced anesthesia monitoring.
  • Collaborate with specialists to manage complex exotic cases and continue to grow your clinical interests.

Requirements

  • Experience or residency training in exotic animal medicine.
  • AVMA accreditation.
  • Current Pennsylvania license.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited internship and/or residency program in exotic animal medicine.
  • Passing scores on the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE).

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of exotic animal anatomy and physiology.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and treat a variety of exotic species.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities.
