About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys practicing thoughtful medicine, building lasting client relationships, and leading in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the close-knit, collaborative team
  • Manage a manageable caseload of 12–14 patients on outpatient days and 6–8 patients on surgery afternoons
  • Thoughtfully schedule appointments to accommodate sedation procedures and extended consultations
  • Collaborate with local boarding and grooming facilities to ensure continuity of care
  • Participate in ongoing renovations and upgrades to the hospital
  • Support the Hospital Manager with administrative duties

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience
  • Experience managing a veterinary practice
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a busy schedule and prioritize tasks effectively

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
  • Current license to practice veterinary medicine in Iowa
  • Knowledge of preventative care, surgical procedures, and diagnostic imaging

Skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and staff
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
