Veterinarian - Chief of Staff
Position Overview
The Chief of Staff Veterinarian serves as the medical leader of the hospital. This role combines clinical excellence with leadership responsibilities, helping guide medical standards, mentor associate veterinarians, and support the growth of the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Leadership
- Establish and maintain high medical standards and best practices
- Mentor and support associate veterinarians and clinical staff
- Promote continuous improvement in patient care and clinical protocols
Clinical Practice
- Provide comprehensive veterinary care including examinations, diagnostics, treatment plans, and surgery
- Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care
- Ensure exceptional patient care and client experience
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the hospital manager to support daily operations
- Foster a positive, collaborative team culture
- Participate in staff training and development
Practice Growth
- Help drive hospital growth through strong client relationships and medical excellence
- Support initiatives that improve patient care, efficiency, and team engagement
Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent)
Minimum 3 years of clinical veterinary experience
Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the state of Texas
Strong clinical, diagnostic, and surgical skills
Demonstrated leadership or mentorship experience preferred
Excellent communication and client relationship skills
Passion for practicing high-quality veterinary medicine
