About the role

Elm City Vet is seeking a veterinarian to join our growing team in our new hospital in New Haven. We are part of the Pieper Veterinary family, known for our patient-first approach and commitment to continuous learning and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Treat a diverse caseload of small animals including dogs, cats, birds, and exotics
• Perform routine and complex medical procedures, including surgeries and dental work
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and foster a positive environment for pets and their families
• Collaborate with a supportive team of veterinarians, technicians, and assistants
• Participate in ongoing professional development through seminars, conferences, and online courses

Requirements

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited institution
• Current license to practice veterinary medicine in Connecticut
• Experience in small animal medicine and surgery preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality care to pets and their owners

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
