About the role

Veterinary care at Helen Woodward Animal Center is about more than just treating pets; it's about providing exceptional, compassionate care. This role is for a skilled and compassionate Veterinarian who will join a 6-doctor general practice focused on high-quality, client-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive day-to-day healthcare including preventive and wellness care, diagnostics, and internal medicine
• Provide dental care
• Collaborate with local mobile specialists for internal medicine, surgery, and cardiology
• Participate in community programs such as Pets Without Walls mobile vehicle unit
• Occasionally assist at the adoptions/shelter clinic and care for Center's education animals

Requirements

• A current DVM license in good standing (California)
• Proficiency in general veterinary practice and surgery
• A calm, compassionate demeanor
• Excellent communication and emotional intelligence
• A team-oriented mindset and a strong sense of purpose

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role preferred
• Strong interest in community outreach and animal welfare

Benefits

• Salary range: $145,000 - $182,000, DOE

Pay

$145,000 - $182,000 per year (DOE)

Schedule

Full-time position, no overnight or on-call shifts
