We are currently seeking a dedicated, experienced, and highly skilled Permanent Veterans Benefits Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive legal assistance to veterans and their families, primarily focusing on veterans' benefits claims and appeals. You will have the opportunity to directly impact the lives of veterans by helping them navigate complex legal processes to secure the benefits they deserve.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings before the Board of Veterans' Appeals (BVA).
  • Research and analyze case issues and develop solutions.
  • Prepare and file appeals and claims with the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA).
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date client files.
  • Conduct client interviews to gather information about their claims.
  • Assist veterans in the process of applying for VA disability benefits.
  • Collaborate with the VA and other agencies to ensure the successful resolution of claims.
  • Understand and interpret medical and military records.
  • Stay updated on changes in veterans' law and VA regulations.
  • Provide compassionate and empathetic support to veterans and their families throughout the claims process.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a VA Disability Paralegal, VA Benefits Paralegal, Veterans Law Paralegal, VA Claims Paralegal, Veterans Claims Specialist, Veterans Benefits Specialist, Veterans Advocate, or VA Accredited Claims Agent.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Department of Veterans Affairs, VA, Veteran Benefits, Veterans Disability, VA Disability, VA Claims, Board of Veterans' Appeals, BVA, C&P, and Compensation and Pension.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated dedication to serving veterans and their families.
  • Proficiency in using legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Paralegal certification or equivalent is preferred.
