About the role

Residential Hospice Vet-to-Vet Program aims to pair recruited Veteran Volunteers with Hospice patients who have been identified as Veterans. Once paired, Veteran Volunteers have the unique ability to relate and connect with each patient thereby creating an environment where life review and healing may occur.

Responsibilities

• Pair with Hospice patients who are Veterans
• Create an environment conducive to life review and healing
• Connect with patients to facilitate meaningful conversations

Requirements

• Driver’s License
• Background Check
• Attend Orientation

Qualifications

• Must be in or near Belleville, MI
• Available on weekdays (daytime, evenings) and weekends (daytime)
• Able to commit to 1 to 2 hours bi-weekly

Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to relate to and connect with Veterans
