Vertical Launch System Technician II

Duties And Responsibilities

• Direct, oversee repair activities
• Train, troubleshoot, diagnose, and maintain the following:
• MK41 Vertical Launching System
• MK57 Peripheral Vertical Launching System
• Provide technical support for procurement, installation, at-sea testing, preventive/corrective maintenance, and lifecycle management of systems.
• Interpret technical manuals, apply repair standards, and maintain accurate technical documentation.

Required Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalent
• Able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
• 4+ years of related experience with MK41 and/or MK57MK41 VLS In-Service Engineering Agent/Field Representative Course of Instruction (MK41 VLS ISEA/FSR) graduate
• Advanced knowledge and proficient in troubleshooting and maintaining associated systems
• Strong technical comprehension with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, system drawings, and procedural corrective and repair standards
• Effective communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to provide technical findings orally and/or written
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related technical applications

Pay Range

The pay range for this role is $32.30-$39.50 Hourly. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

• Frequent standing, sitting, walking, handling, feeling with hands, reaching with arms
• Regular Communication (hearing and speaking)
• Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, handling tools/equipment, and lifting of heavy objects
• Ability to go aboard submarines, and other naval craft
• Ability to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways onboard ships
• Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs. in weight
• Industrial, shop environment
• Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States
