For more information, visit www.livenationentertainment.com. Uptown Theater is seeking a Security team member to guard, patrol, and monitor venue premises.

About the role

This person will guard, patrol, and/or monitor the venue premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules. May operate metal detector equipment. This role will circulate among guests and/or employees to preserve safety, order, and protect the venue property. They will monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, guests, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security and safety of the premises. They may write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences. They will patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates. They may operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas. They will maintain crowd control and ensure safety by working alongside barricade security at concerts and shows. They will warn persons of rule infractions or violations and apprehend or evict violators from premises.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, guests, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security and safety of the premises.
  • May write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
  • Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
  • Maintain crowd control and ensure safety by working alongside barricade security at concerts and shows.
  • Show CARE by participating in the venue’s sustainability program which could include implementing programs that conserve resources/prevent waste such as sorting waste and collecting recycling and educating our fans about our efforts.
  • Warn persons of rule infractions or violations and apprehend or evict violators from premises.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience working with general security, nightclub, and/or nightclub security is preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment and enforcement procedures.
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance; ability to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to safely manage and redirect individuals during active crowd events.
  • Ability to carry up to 150+ lbs. on occasion.
  • Acute sense of judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
  • A strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute programs.

Qualifications

Pay

Hourly pay is based on a number of factors including market location, qualifications, skills, and experience. The expected compensation for this position is $16.00 USD - $20.00 USD per hour.

Schedule

The Uptown Theater operates on a standard work schedule, but specific hours may vary depending on the performance schedule. Employees are expected to adhere to the established schedule and may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
