Vehicular Equipment Mechanic I (Construction Equipment)

About the role

This is skilled work in the maintenance and repair of a variety of vehicular equipment.

Responsibilities

• Graduation from a standard senior high school, or the successful completion of the General Educational Development (GED) test.
• Completion of an apprenticeship or trade school program in automotive or diesel repair.
• A minimum of one year journeyman level experience in maintenance and repair in one of the following areas: (1) automotive/light truck/miscellaneous; (2) medium/heavy truck or (3) construction equipment; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.
• Must possess a valid driver's license from state of residence.
• May be required to work overtime.
• The Mobile Area Water & Sewer System requires Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements, including air brake endorsement, be obtained prior to completion of the six month working test period.

$48,091 - $76,882 for Mobile County, $40,528 - $64,790 for City of Mobile, $44,658 - $71,394 for Mobile Area Water and Sewer System, $45,775 - $73,178 for City of Saraland
