About the role
The Vehicle System Engineer ensures programming first-time quality on upcoming, new, and legacy programs. They address escalations and support field support issues, drive FTQ initiatives, and leverage AI tools to improve workflow efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Author and maintain service programming framework in the DTH and GSPAS application.
- Address and resolve field support issues related to programming and diagnostics.
- Leverage AI tools to analyze workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of vehicle electrical architecture standards and vehicle serial data communications/networks
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to function autonomously
- Excellent organizational, attention to detail, and communication skills
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Solid understanding of vehicle systems
- Working technical knowledge with prior automotive service or engineering experience
- Understanding of vehicle data communication protocols used in service programming
- Knowledge of GM business processes, systems, and tools including ECM, SPR, PRTS, GSPAS, VCAM, DPS, and JIRA
- Familiarity with GM’s Service Programming System (TLC/SPS2) and Global Diagnostics Tool (GDS 2)
