About the role
Auto Warehousing (AWC) is seeking a Full-Time Rail Loader to join our team in Vancouver, OR. The ideal candidate must be able to work outside 100% of the time, hold a valid Driver's License, and drive a manual transmission vehicle.
Responsibilities
- Prepare rail car for loading
- Open/Close rail car doors
- Raise and lower rail car decks
- Operate loading ramp and position correctly for safe vehicle entry
- Properly set rail car bridge plates in place
- Shuttle vehicles onto the rail cars
- Check vehicles for damage
- Report damage or missed bays to lead, supervisor, or manager
- Drive customer vehicles onto rail cars from staging lines in a safe and efficient manner
- Secure vehicles in the rail cars
- Apply chains or chocks, as required by manufacturers, to ensure the vehicle is secure
- Walk the deck to verify vehicles are properly loaded and secured
- Vary duties as assigned or required to help the facility function in a team environment
- Adhere to all AWC and AAR safety standards
- Train new employees and temporary workers
Requirements
- Valid driver's license; good driving record
- 6 months work experience preferred
- Experience working in a team environment at Auto Warehousing Company, including its subsidiaries
Qualifications
- Able to follow directions, both written and verbal
- Able to adhere to strict quality standards without variance
- Good visual ability
- Knowledge of the use of hand tools (i.e., wrenches, screwdrivers, ratchets, etc.)
- Able to work at a height approximately 15 feet above the ground
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds overhead
- Able to push, pull, or carry up to 85 pounds
- Able to pass Safe Driving, Rail, and Buck Ramp quizzes with 80% accuracy or better
- Able to stand, walk, and work outdoors in all weather conditions

Pay
The pay rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with a shift of 7:00am-3:30pm. Some weekend work may be required due to the vessel schedule.
