Vehicle Operator (Community Response Team Program)

About the Role

The Vehicle Operator is an active member of the team and provides transportation for individuals who have been assessed and determined to need transport to an Emergency Receiving Facility (e.g., Crisis Stabilization Unit or hospital).

Responsibilities

• Operate motor vehicles to transport voluntary individuals from a community location to a CSU or hospital as identified by law enforcement or a behavioral health provider.
• Maintain all training necessary to operate a state vehicle and transport individuals.
• Complete and maintain all reports and transportation logs.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained and reports are turned in to the Health & Safety officer each month.
• Ensure vehicles are up to standards and in compliance.
• Follow established policies and procedures regarding transportation of individuals and calling in for unscheduled absences.
• Use time management and maintain schedule.
• Use initiative and judgement to address circumstances requiring special attention (e.g., individual acting out) and refer them to the supervisor and/or director.
• Work flexible hours to ensure individuals arrive at their destination at the appropriate time.
• Other duties as assigned.
