Vehicle Installation Technician

About the role

We are looking for reliable, hardworking individuals to join our team as Automotive Installers. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working on vehicles, using tools, and learning new skills. If you've worked on your own cars, installed aftermarket accessories, performed basic vehicle maintenance, or have automotive hands-on experience, we'd like to speak with you. You will help install and service equipment in police, fire, emergency response, and commercial fleet vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Install emergency lighting, sirens, radios, mobile computers, cameras, and GPS equipment.
  • Perform basic 12-volt automotive wiring and electrical work.
  • Assist with troubleshooting wiring, switches, relays, and vehicle accessories.
  • Install prisoner transport cages, K-9 cages, consoles, mounts, and other vehicle equipment.
  • Use hand and power tools to complete vehicle modifications and installations.
  • Test installed equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow safety procedures and company standards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Previous experience working on cars, trucks, or automotive equipment.
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.

Preferred Backgrounds

  • Automotive technician or mechanic experience.
  • Car audio installation.
  • Vehicle accessories installation.
  • Fleet maintenance.
  • Automotive hobbyists who perform their own repairs and upgrades.
  • Vocational or trade school automotive training.

Work Environment

Shop-based automotive installation work. Monday through Friday schedule. Essential employee position; attendance is expected during inclement weather whenever operations remain open. Hands-on role requiring standing, bending, lifting, and working around vehicles throughout the day.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
