Vegetation Imagery Analyst- Part Time

About the role
The Vegetation Imagery Analyst reports to the Senior Operations Manager and plays a key role in identifying, inspecting, and evaluating trees and brush along utility lines through satellite imaging. Responsibilities include analyzing aerial photographs and satellite images for vegetation-related issues such as declining, diseased, or dying trees that could impact utility reliability. This position focuses on Q/A work for previously reviewed images. This is a seasonal, remote role running until November.
Pay: $22 to $25 an hour, 20 to 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Analyze aerial photographs and satellite images to identify vegetation-related issues near utility lines.
- Perform Q/A work on previously reviewed images.
- Identify trees and brush that may pose risks to utility reliability.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in forestry, horticulture, or a related field or two years of related experience.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or Horticulture (preferred).
- One year of experience as a utility Arborist (preferred).
- ISA Certification (a plus).
Skills
- Ability to learn and use company or job-specific software systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) or similar software suite.
- Ability to identify trees and knowledge of growth rates.
- Ability to read and follow maps.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and good judgment for business decisions.
- Knowledge of vegetation management (a plus).
- Knowledge of electric utility facilities and hardware (a plus).
Schedule
Seasonal position running until November, with 20 to 30 hours per week.
