About the role
A VDI Engineer supporting the Government will engineer new and improved enhancements for existing and emerging virtual desktop technologies.
- Engineer, design, test, implement, maintain, secure, and manage the full life cycle of complex Citrix Xen Desktop and NetScaler solutions deployed in a large Enterprise environment
- Design and support Microsoft infrastructure solutions, including Azure Virtual Desktop, on-prem, cloud, and hybrid
- Interact with Government stakeholders regarding technical considerations for problems, issues, or conflicts
- Engineer, implement, mitigate, monitor, and tune VDI environment and management software to obtain Authorize to Operate (ATO) for new VDI solutions
- Manage Citrix products (Virtual Apps, Virtual Desktops, ADC, Provisioning)
- Manage Azure products (Azure Virtual Desktops)
- Operate and execute scripting skills in PowerShell or Python
- Provide Tier 3 and above support as needed (troubleshooting, problem resolution support, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA))
- Prepare and maintain documentation for VDI solutions, processes, and procedures related to engineering projects
Requirements
- Must have High School Diploma and 10+ years of experience or Associate's degree and 8+ years of experience or Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience
- Must have an Active TS/SCI clearance; willing to obtain a CI Poly
- Experience performing engineering work associated with the design, development, maintenance, and testing of infrastructure for desktop application packaging and deployment technologies
- Knowledge of Citrix XenApp, AppLayering, and/or Enterprise Layer Manager (ELM)
- Hands-on experience with SQL Clustering Failover
- Knowledge of cloud, networking, and enterprise architectures
- Expertise in Windows 10/11 – Standard Operating Environment (SOE), imaging, evergreen, etc.
- Experience with Remote Desktop Service (RDS) on Windows Server 2019/2022
- Ability to deploy Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) on Windows Server 2019/2022
Qualifications
Required Certification:
- CWS-215: Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7 Administration On-Premises and in Citrix Cloud
Preferred Certification(s):
- Managing Modern Desktops (MD-101)
- Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (1Y0-312)
- Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop
