About the role

Varmoda is seeking an experienced Oracle APEX / PL/SQL Developer to design, develop, maintain, and modernize enterprise applications built on Oracle technologies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Oracle Database (11g, 18c, and 19c), PL/SQL development, and Oracle Application Express (APEX), along with expertise in application modernization, web services integration, and secure data handling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Oracle APEX.
• Create and optimize SQL queries, PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and database objects.
• Support Oracle Database environments including Oracle 11g, 18c, and 19c.
• Develop secure, scalable, and high-performing web applications using Oracle APEX best practices.
• Support and modernize legacy applications built using the Oracle PL/SQL Web Toolkit.
• Participate in application migration and modernization initiatives from legacy platforms to Oracle APEX.
• Develop and maintain integrations using RESTful and SOAP web services.
• Enhance front-end user experience through JavaScript and jQuery development.
• Troubleshoot application and database performance issues.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Implement security controls and best practices for the protection of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and applicable regulations, including HIPAA requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, and deployment procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting Oracle database-driven enterprise applications.
• Experience with Oracle 11g, Oracle 18c, and Oracle 19c environments.
• Strong understanding of database design, performance tuning, and optimization.

Skills

• SQL and PL/SQL: minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with SQL development, PL/SQL programming, stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, and database performance optimization.
• Oracle APEX: minimum 5 years of experience developing applications using Oracle Application Express (APEX).
• JavaScript / jQuery: minimum 5 years of experience with JavaScript and/or jQuery.
• Desired: Oracle PL/SQL Web Toolkit, web services integration, security and compliance experience.
• Preferred: Oracle Application Development Framework knowledge, Oracle performance tuning and query optimization, experience with application lifecycle management and deployment practices, familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
