VDC Specialist

About the role

This position involves working with the assigned Project Manager to plan and execute projects that meet client expectations, budget, schedule, and goals. Responsibilities include mentoring and guiding team members, coordinating with clients and project teams, implementing BIM quality control procedures, and preparing project plans and deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and guide Virtual Design and Construction team members.
• Closely work with Project Manager, project team, clients, and expanded team to integrate BIM authoring applications.
• Lead efforts with Project Architects and Engineers to track and resolve multi-discipline coordination issues.
• Facilitate BIM review meetings and implement BIM quality control procedures.
• Create and maintain BIM Execution Plans and BIM Standards for the organization.
• Stay updated on industry BIM standards and emerging technologies.
• Formulate project work plans based on approved scopes of work for BIM.
• Develop and communicate project work plans for BIM-related issues.
• Track project completeness against schedule and budget using BIM reports.
• Affirm service, scope, quality, and schedule alignment between the client and Ghafari production team.
• Identify and manage changes to the project scope and their impacts using BIM.
• Evaluate and implement BIM technologies to improve workflow and efficiency.
• Prepare proposals related to BIM technologies and workflows.
• Support project team with training, troubleshooting, and document control.
• Run clash and coordination reports and conduct project meetings.

Requirements

• Associate degree in an A/E discipline or a Construction related field.
• Professional society affiliation preferred.
• Revit certification preferred.
• 5-10+ years in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction Industry.
• 5-10+ years implementing Revit, BIM, and CAD standards in A/E practice.
• 5-10+ years implementing new technologies in the A/E practice.
• 5-10+ years providing training / education.

Qualifications

• Experience with Navisworks, AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, ACC, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, High-definition Laser scanning, AR, VR, Automation Tools, and Microsoft Teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Management and leadership experience.
• Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and multitasking abilities.
• Knowledge of Cobie, Omniclass, and Uniformat Codes, ISO 19650, AIA Level of Development and Level of Detail requirements, AIA BIM Forms, IPD Deliverable Workflows, and international standards.
• Experience leading diverse teams in producing construction drawings and BIM models.
• Understanding of building construction and constructability.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
• Ability to problem solve and find solutions through research and best practices.
