VDC Lead Coordinator
Position Summary
The VDC Lead Coordinator is responsible for leading the development, coordination, and management of detailed 3D mechanical and plumbing models using Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) methodologies. This role requires strong technical expertise in Revit, Sys Que, and Navisworks, along with a solid understanding of construction processes, mechanical and plumbing systems, and industry standards.
Essential Responsibilities
Lead the development and coordination of detailed mechanical and plumbing models using Revit and the SysQue database.
Ensure VDC models are developed in accordance with contract documents, project standards, specifications, and established modeling procedures.
Lead clash detection and resolution efforts using Navisworks.
Cookinate mechanical and plumbing systems with structural, architectural, electrical, and other trades.
Identify, document, and resolve design conflicts and constructability issues.
Communicate with internal project teams to obtain missing information and ensure models are complete and accurate.
Interpret mechanical and plumbing specifications, construction documents, and applicable codes.
Incorporate relevant information from equipment, fixture, and specialty-item submittals into project models.
Represent mechanical and plumbing systems during coordination meetings with project stakeholders and other trades.
Lead coordination discussions and provide technical guidance to team members.
Monitor model quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
Assist project teams with constructability reviews, design coordination, and field-related VDC requirements.
Promote consistent VDC/BIM standards, workflows, and best practices across assigned projects.
Qualifications & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant VDC, BIM, mechanical, plumbing, or construction experience.
Strong working knowledge of Revit and Sys Que.
Strong working knowledge of Navisworks and clash detection.
Understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems, construction practices, specifications, and applicable codes.
Experience coordinating multiple trades within a construction environment.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated leadership ability and confidence representing systems during coordination meetings.
Ability to manage priorities, meet project deadlines, and work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Flexible scheduling and periodic overtime may be required based on project needs.
