VDC Engineer

About the role

This internship is located in Austin, TX, to train with the VDC group while assisting with projects associated with the Houston, TX, office. The successful candidate will ultimately transfer to Houston. Please note: applying for positions in multiple locations will result in a longer vetting process.

Responsibilities

• Creating virtual simulations to validate and improve site logistics, safety concerns, building sequencing, scheduling, and VR experiences.
• Managing 3D coordination activities with operation teams from project kickoff through closeout.
• Performing preconstruction model tasks – quality verifications, schedule validations, constructability reviews, and virtual mock‑up production.
• Driving research and development of new software, hardware, and technology to optimize the team’s execution and overall project quality.

Requirements

• Understand building construction, engineering, and/or architecture.
• Have on‑the‑job or class experience with BIM software programs and technology.
• Thrive in a team environment both contributing to larger projects and producing independent work.
• Have an innately curious, forward‑thinking personality to push innovative ideas in all aspects of daily tasks.
