VDC & BIM Manager

About the role

VDC Manager at Rockford, a trusted partner to thousands of clients across the U.S., is seeking a key member of the Virtual Design Construction Team. This role involves fostering an inclusive environment, understanding project workflows, and leading BIM coordination for large-scale, multi-discipline projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Foster an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Understand project workflows and project management.
• Support in-house pre-construction team, design team, and project management team with day-to-day and long-term duties, tasks, and training.
• Explore and implement more VDC applications (4D scheduling, 5D cost, nD, etc.).
• Develop BIM Scope of Work, BIM Project Execution Plan, BIM Schedule, and document necessary to complete scope as determined with VDC/BIM leadership and project teams.
• Lead and self-perform BIM coordination for large scale, multi-discipline projects.
• Set up and maintain Federated models using Revit, Navisworks, and related platforms.
• Run clash detection, manage issue tracking, and drive models to clash-free signoff milestones.
• Ensure VDC/BIM deliverables meet quality, accuracy, and constructability expectations.
• Track and communicate schedule and cost impacts associated with coordination or scope changes.
• Define and communicate project goals and milestones to team members.
• Provide hands-on training and technical guidance to BIM Coordinators and project teams.
• Be productive, positive, and proactive in a fast-paced work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, MEP Engineering, or a BIM related field; or equivalent years of professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience using and creating deliverables using Autodesk software.
• Advanced proficiency with Revit (Architecture, MEP, and Structure), Navisworks Manage, and AutoCAD.
• Proficiency using Procore and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Experience leading BIM coordination efforts on large-scale or multi-discipline MEP projects.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to lead coordination meetings and collaborate with diverse project teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• A passion for looking for ways to improve individual and/or company performance.
• Must have working knowledge of MS Office, including strong skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Environmental Factors

The work environment for this position is a typical office environment with occasional construction site visits. When in the office, the physical demands require the ability to sit for long periods of time. Intermittent movement, such as accessing centrally located office equipment, lifting of 35 lbs, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing, may be necessary to perform the requirements of this position. Site visits may subject the individual to hazards commonly associated with construction.
