Responsibilities
- Perform non-invasive ultrasound procedures while recognizing sonographic characteristics of normal and abnormal tissue, structures and blood flow.
- Adjust scanning techniques to optimize image quality and spectral waveform.
- Perform measurements and calculations according to laboratory protocol.
- Analyze sonographic findings throughout the course of the examination to complete the comprehensive exam and provide sufficient data to the physician to render a final diagnosis.
- Initiate additional scanning techniques or administer contrast agents as indicated by the examination and according to established laboratory policy and procedure.
- Notify appropriate personnel when procedural findings are significant and/or patient condition is of concern.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology or Nursing Program.
- Registered Vascular Sonographer.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
