Varsity Track and Field Assistant Coach — Pole Vault (seasonal)

About the role

Durham Academy is accepting applications for a part‑time varsity assistant track coach specializing in pole vault. The coach will teach, coach, and mentor 5‑10 high school athletes in the pole vault event and report directly to the head coaches.

Responsibilities

• Teach, coach, and mentor 5‑10 high school athletes in pole vault.
• Develop and implement workouts appropriate for varying skill levels.
• Teach basic, intermediate, and advanced skills regarding mechanics, technique, and form.
• Communicate and work well with other coaches, parents, and student‑athletes.
• Help student‑athletes reach their potential.
• Attend practices and meets; attend the Conference and State Meet at the end of the season.

Qualifications

• Experience competing as a pole vault athlete at the high school or college level.
• Valid driver’s license.

Schedule

• Season: February‑mid May.
• Practice times: Monday through Friday, 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
• No weekend responsibilities except attending the Conference and State Meet at the end of the season.
