Responsibilities
- Drive to and from designated locations, transporting soiled linen and delivering clean linen products to hotel customers, while verifying loads and adhering to state and Federal Regulations.
- Perform a variety of tasks, including conducting Pre & Post Trip Inspection of truck, assisting dispatchers and weighmasters, loading clean linen into trucks, communicating customer concerns or complaints, completing trip sheet, reporting all mechanical issues, accidents, and incidents, and complying with company policies and procedures.
- Operate truck lift gate and back-up trucks correctly and safely into tight places, push/pull cars loaded with linen weighing approximately up to 700 pounds, and interact with hotel staff.
- Communicate with Production or Logistics Manager on duty regarding delays and report all delays to supervisor/manager.
- Pass a drug test and comply with all Customers’ safety and delivery requirements.
Qualifications and Minimum Requirements
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) a must
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
- Exceptional customer service is mandatory
Job Specific Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience driving a commercial truck
- Able to follow maps or directions to meet destination in a safe and efficient manner
- Able to understand and complete basic math
- Able to operate truck lift gate and back-up trucks correctly and safely into tight places
- Able to push/pull cars loaded with linen weighing approximately up to 700 pounds
- Able to work in an industrial setting with heat/cold and distracting noise levels
Physical / Mental Requirements
- Assigned duties are accomplished primarily driving the truck and an industrial setting
- Able to operate truck lift gate and back-up trucks correctly and safely into tight places
- Able to push/pull cars loaded with linen weighing approximately up to 700 pounds
- Able to work in an industrial setting with heat/cold and distracting noise levels
Work Environment
- The working environment is typical of an industrial facility including noise and vibration
- An employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration
- Personal Protective Equipment will be required for certain tasks
Pay Information
- The wage is no less than $19.00 per hour
- Overtime pay starts at $28.50 per hour
- A higher rate than $19.00 may be offered, the overtime rate will be calculated 1.5X the offered hourly rate
- Earn an additional $1.50 shift differential on top of their hourly rate for working 5:00 pm onwards on weekdays or anytime on the weekends
- Our Company's pay period starts on a Sunday and ends on a Saturday
- A single work week will be used to compute the wages due
- Workers are paid on the following Thursday after the end of the pay period
- Rate increases and/or bonuses may be offered at the Company's discretion, based on individual factors such as performance, skill, and tenure
