Van Driver, PS or CDL

About the role

The Van Driver transports seniors for the Dial‑A‑Ride program offered by Thrive 55+, providing safe and courteous transportation while adhering to all licensing and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Transport seniors to and from appointments, activities, and other destinations.
• Maintain a good driving and safety record; comply with state and federal licensure requirements.
• Assist passengers with boarding, securing mobility devices, and ensuring comfort.
• Perform vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues.
• Keep the vehicle clean and stocked with necessary supplies.

Requirements

• Experience in public transportation with a good driving and safety record.
• Valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License – either a CDL Class B with P endorsement or a Class D with F endorsement (A endorsement preferred).
• Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds and perform bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Willingness to work a varied and flexible schedule, primarily day hours with occasional nights or weekends.
• Knowledge of the local area and ability to work with a diverse range of groups, including adults 55+ and people of all abilities.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Successful completion of criminal background, drug testing, and driving record checks prior to employment.

Benefits

• Position eligible for prorated benefits (based on up to 24 hours per week).

Pay

• Starting rate (PSL): $20.50 per hour; range: $20.50 – $22.25 per hour.
• Starting rate (CDL): $22.00 per hour; range: $22.00 – $23.75 per hour.

Schedule

• Regular part‑time, up to 24 hours per week.
• Varied and flexible schedule – primarily day hours with occasional nights or weekends.
