Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely transport clients to and from treatment programs, medical appointments, and approved community locations.
- Operate 12–15 passenger vans in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and state safety regulations when applicable.
- Maintain adherence to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and organizational transportation policies.
- Ensure timely pick-up and drop-off schedules while maintaining flexibility for program needs.
- Carry out routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Always maintain the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle.
- Document transportation activities, including mileage, passenger logs, and incident reports.
- Provide respectful and supportive interaction with clients in accordance with trauma-informed care principles.
- Communicate any client concerns, behavioral issues, or safety concerns to the appropriate staff.
- Follow confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations regarding client information.
- Aid staff with basic client support during transport as needed.
- Participate in required training, including safety and behavioral health awareness.
- Ensure proper seatbelt use and passenger safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications - Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
- The ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and driving record verification is necessary.
- Previous experience driving passenger vans or working in healthcare, behavioral health, or human services is preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification is preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Expected Travel
30% within the state or District to promote the awareness of Kolmac/CCG and provide training to the community.
Pay
The pay for this position is $18-$20 per hour. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, licensure, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
