Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble unit by following blueprints, process charts, work orders or other specifications.
- Air/hydro test valves, actuators and level gauges for leaks, temperature, and pressure settings.
- Assemble/Disassemble valves, actuators and level gauges using power and hand tools.
- Position, fit or align parts on workbench, floor or machine following blueprints, diagrams, guides, reference marks or work orders.
- Hold parts during assembly using hands, clamps, pneumatic presses or other work aids.
- Position and fasten components together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets or other fasteners.
- File, grind, plane, sand or buff parts to remove burrs, alter shape, improve fit or smooth finish using hand or power tools.
- Adjust, repair, and/or replace defective product parts.
- Inspect, test and verify accuracy of assembled unit for conformance to standards and customer requirements.
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to Production Supervisors.
- Record production date on paper or on computer.
- Lift, load, and move supplies and finished product between storage and work area.
- Drive forklifts, lift trucks, pallet jacks.
- Operate over head crane.
- Label product with identifying data.
- Follow safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Education/Knowledge: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience/Skills: 3 to 7 years mechanical assembly experience. Intermediate level of Control Valve experience preferred. Preferred to know control tube bending.
- Competencies: Ability to safely use and maintain a large variety of tools and equipment, including impact wrenches, overhead cranes and forklifts. Ability to read general arrangement (GA) drawings, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings (P&ID). Ability to read and interpret technical manuals. Basic computer skills. Ability to work independently or as a team member. Ability to work with minimum supervision. Control tube bending.
