Job Summary

Lead manufacturing of value stream process, including all aspects of safety performance, product quality and quantity, personnel management and discipline, training, budgeting, cost control/reduction and continuous improvement utilizing the COS tools.
Responsible for developing a strong team environment with clear and effective communications.
Serve as a key interface with a variety of support personnel including Plant Dept. Managers, other Value Stream associates across the company, R&D, Purchasing, Maintenance, Engineering, Technical Services, Scheduling, Sales, Customer Service, HR, and Logistics.
Supervisory responsibilities of 6 direct reports and approx. 150 indirect reports
Expected hours of work around 7:00 am to 4:00 pm with coverage required across shifts of responsibilities.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop a manufacturing team to provide exceptional customer service at the lowest possible cost while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Specific duties include management of employee development/training, plant scheduling, recruiting/terminations, customer contact, root cause analysis, financial tracking, safety implementation, supplier evaluation, and process improvement.
  • Oversight and leadership of the Lean Manufacturing journey in the plant. This includes leveraging the Carlisle Operating System (COS) to drive daily, incremental improvement in all aspects of the site.
  • Create an environment for success among supervisory and production employees.
  • Coach and develop supervisors and team leaders in their managerial skills to align with overall company goals.
  • Collaborate and interact with cross functional departments and at various levels within the organization to achieve facility and company goals.
  • Manage the buildings and grounds to ensure good manufacturing practices are adhered to and a professional appearance is maintained.
  • Continuously monitor compliance with all environmental permits pertaining to the manufacturing process and facility.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and problem-solving tools.
  • Proven ability to select employees, set goals and objectives, coach, and lead direct and indirect employees, and conduct performance appraisal reviews.
  • Ability to function in a team environment, work well with others, handles multiple priorities and projects are necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with colleagues and direct reports
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen
  • Strong team building, decision making and people management skills.
  • Strong process and mechanical systems understanding, project management experience is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office and ERP Systems, SAP experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to set strategic direction and lead teams.

Education And Experience

  • Minimum education level required: bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or other technical related discipline.
  • Minimum experience level required: 3-5 years in manufacturing position or one that is closely associated with plant operations. Prior supervisory experience required to include leading team(s) of 10+ for at least 2 years.
  • Preferred: Desired certifications in Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, leadership development, and/or OSHA 10-hour

Pay Range

$114-120k (based on experience and education)
