About the role
This position evaluates medical products, services, and technologies to optimize cost-effectiveness while maintaining or improving patient care quality. The role supports evidence-based decision-making in healthcare procurement, technology adoption, resource allocation, and financial mitigation strategies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive analyses to support clinical and business/financial strategic expertise
- Provide clinical and business/financial strategic expertise to facilitate supply expense management
- Review and improve processes that support clinical patient care
- Work with system clinical care and supply chain teams to assist in contract implementations and conversions
- Act as a primary liaison between leadership, front line clinical, and supply chain staff to ensure cost-effective utilization of products, services, and processes
- Manage multiple concurrent projects involving internal customers, external suppliers, and other shareholders
- Perform Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), cost/benefit, and financial feasibility analysis
- Document findings and analyses, including system and business relationships
- Proactively prioritize responsibilities and goals
- Use health care data sets to make data-driven decisions
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in health-related clinical specialty, healthcare business, finance, economics or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3-5 years in a healthcare organization with experience in healthcare finance, supply chain, clinical operations, and/or leadership roles
- Previous project management experience, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple projects
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement systems and regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare technologies
- Project and change management skills, including initiating, planning and design, executing, monitoring, closing and post-event evaluating
- Ability to use good judgment when performing the functions of the job or when interacting with others
- Effective communication skills, including clear and concise dialog to all team members
Qualifications
- Prefer active RN licensure or equivalent
- 5-10 years’ experience in a clinical healthcare setting
- Knowledge of Integrated Delivery Networks, hospital organizational structures, and hospital staff structures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Functional working knowledge of clinical and surgical supply, supply chain processes, and SKU maintenance processes
