Job Description
- Validation of high‑speed optical and electrical interfaces (optical lanes, SerDes, PCIe, Ethernet).
- Experienced with: NRZ/PAMx BER testing and eye diagram analysis
- Link margining and stress testing
- Standard compliance point testing
- De-embedding SI effects of high-speed interconnects
- Experience validating optical electrical devices used for data center optical modules and high‑speed interfaces such as TIAs, Drivers and Equalizers
- Familiarity with relevant standards is highly regarded
- Validation and design verification of TIA performance, including:
- Bandwidth, gain, noise, linearity, and stability
- Sensitivity and overload behavior
- Jitter and signal‑to‑noise impacts on optical data paths
- Strong understanding of end‑to‑end system architecture, spanning optical front ends, high‑speed electrical interfaces, firmware, drivers, and operating systems
- Ownership of validation activities across DVT, PVT and debug activities
- Defining the Hardware requirements and be able to run debugging of hardware–firmware–DUT
- Development and ownership of automated validation frameworks for validation plan of record
- Strong scripting skills in C#, MATLAB, Python
- Automation of test execution, data capture, result analysis, and reporting
- Strong root‑cause analysis skills spanning analog, digital, software, and system domains
- Proficient use of lab equipment including: High‑bandwidth oscilloscopes BER testers and optical test equipment Vector Network Analyzer
Job Qualifications/Requirements
- BS and 5 years’ experience, or MS and 3 years’ experience and education in areas related to the disciplines listed above.
- Ability to reproduce, isolate, and drive closure of complex cross‑functional issues
- Support for qualification, manufacturing handoff, and volume deployment readiness
- Ownership of validation strategies, coverage plans, and risk assessment
- Clear communication through bug tracking, dashboards, and technical reports
- Mentorship of junior engineers and leadership in technical decision-making
- Ability and willingness to learn and master new disciplines and knowledge, and to work outside fields of current expertise.
- Excellent communications skills and the ability to thoroughly document all work performed to a degree sufficient to pass off to sustaining engineers for long term support, and to contract manufacturers for volume production.
Salary Range
$84,000 – $166,000
Actual salary offered to candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates’ experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
