Emerson’s Test and Measurement Systems group (formerly known as NI) Product R&D has an immediate opening for a V&V Engineer within the Integrated Products design team in Austin, TX.

About the role

In this role, you will work throughout the product lifecycle to develop products and systems that expand the test and measurement industry's capabilities. V&V engineers within the Test and Measurement Systems business group ensure new designs meet project and customer requirements, making this role critical to the team's success. You will have opportunities to expand your skills by learning from experienced technical leaders and participating in initiatives to grow the craft of automated verification and validation.

Responsibilities

  • Specify, design, and create automated test solutions for verifying and validating (V&V) new product specifications and performance requirements.
  • Utilize LabVIEW GOOP skills to develop test applications in a Component-Based development architecture.
  • Participate in product and system design and development to ensure test requirements are considered and implemented during development.
  • Execute test plans, collect data, and generate reports for analysis and review.
  • Collaborate and interact with a global engineering and manufacturing team to ensure smooth realization of new products and systems.
  • Review and approve product specifications and customer user documentation for the product.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with common benchtop instruments such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, function generators, and power supplies.
  • Software Development experience in C#, C++, Python, or LabVIEW.
  • Located within a commutable distance to Emerson / NI’s offices in Austin, TX, or willing to relocate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant engineering experience in automated validation & verification.
  • Experience using LabVIEW GOOP.
  • Familiarity with Emerson Test & Measurement (NI) products and systems.
  • Experience with .NET, Python, and other programming languages.
  • Experience with product performance specification setting.
  • Knowledge of metrological best practices, tools, and standards.
  • Experience collaborating with other technical engineering disciplines such as Analog, Digital, Software, Mechanical, and RF.
