Responsibilities

  • Drive courtesy vehicles on surface streets and freeways to transport guests between the airport, hotel, and local area.
  • Obey all traffic rules, speed limits, and federal, state, and local driving regulations for safe, accident-free trips.
  • Maintain bell station, greet guests, and handle guest luggage.
  • Provide directions, recommendations for local attractions, restaurants, and other services.
  • Assist front desk with answering phones and delivering items to guest rooms.
  • Open and close vehicle doors for guests; check luggage for both day and overnight visits.
  • Assist guests with storing and retrieving luggage from vehicles and rooms using bell carts.
  • Run hotel errands as instructed by management.
  • Maintain and clean the designated lobby station and baggage room.
  • Ensure lobby area and front exterior/interior of the hotel are neat and clean by picking up trash and adjusting furniture.
  • Stand ready to assist guests, greeting and welcoming them to the hotel.
  • Answer phones to assist with PBX/guest calls.
  • Restock supplies at the front desk and business center (e.g., paper supplies).
  • Clean and inspect hotel vehicles; maintain vehicle cleanliness, pump gas, and obtain oil changes.
  • Complete vehicle mileage reports.
  • Promptly report emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, mechanical problems, and safety hazards to management.
  • Adhere to hotel taxi stand requirements and agreements.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, safety, and security rules.
  • Know department fire prevention and emergency procedures; utilize protective equipment.
  • Report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage, or loss to supervisor/manager.
  • Assist other front desk personnel when needed.
  • Perform any related duties as requested by supervisor/manager.

Qualifications

  • Class A or B CDL with passenger endorsement.
  • Current DOT Medical Card.
  • Professional, positive attitude and actions when communicating with guests and team members.
  • Knowledge of the hotel and the city.
  • Ability to operate a computer, printer, copier, and telephone.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible and efficient with a pleasant, cheerful demeanor.

Physical Demands

The work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises. Lifting up to 100 pounds is required. The role demands close and distance vision (with or without corrective lenses) and frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
