Valet Attendant

About the role

The Valet Attendant is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling, parking, and retrieval of hotel guest vehicles at the Canopy by Hilton in Downtown Grand Rapids. This part-time position involves warmly greeting guests, providing assistance, and maintaining a smooth parking experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive and park guest vehicles safely and in a timely manner
• Provide guest assistance and information, such as giving directions, assisting with luggage, and informing guests of hotel amenities
• Address guest inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally
• Follow all hotel safety protocols to protect guests, staff, and vehicles
• Keep parking areas clean and orderly to maximize space usage
• Monitor valet parking department equipment and report any repairs needed to a manager or supervisor
• Be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures and how to respond accordingly
• Report any unusual occurrences or requests to the Valet Supervisor or Manager

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Knowledge of Michigan driving laws and vehicle usage (manual and automatic transmissions)
• Valet experience preferred but not required
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Satisfactory criminal background screening
• Open availability

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to verbally communicate and listen
• Stand for long periods of time
• Ability to walk, kneel, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
