Vacuum Truck Driver

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is seeking Vacuum Truck Drivers to join our team. We pride ourselves on attracting, developing, and retaining top talent across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL with Tanker endorsement required
• HAZMAT endorsement preferred
• Clean driving record (no major traffic violations, tickets, or accidents for the last 7 years)
• Pass pre‑employment DOT physical and drug screening
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis
• Pass background checks for secure facility access
• Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and guidelines
• Complete daily pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and maintain inspection reports
• Maintain daily mileage logs and work tickets
• Use specialized equipment to jet and vacuum storm, sanitary, water lines, and conduits
• Perform hydro excavation using a high‑pressure water gun or lance to soft‑dig into the ground
• Safely operate a commercial vehicle in heavy traffic, construction sites, and tight areas throughout Virginia
• Maintain assigned vehicle(s) to a high standard of cleanliness
• Ensure compliance with the company’s health and safety culture, policies, and requirements
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with co‑workers

Pay

Base hourly range: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour. Compensation may vary outside of this range based on education, experience, skills, and geographic location. Base pay is one part of the total compensation package.

Schedule

• Full‑time, year‑round
• Start time: 6:30 AM
• Overtime, nights, and weekends may be required
• Work at various jobsites throughout Virginia
