Vaccines Specialist, Health and Science Professional - Houston Central, TX

As a Vaccines Health and Science Professional (HSP), you will promote a Vaccines Portfolio across customers and channels, requiring regular in-field and virtual customer engagement. You will be accountable for launching new products, managing business relationships, securing formulary access, and engaging in product promotion within your assigned geography. This role involves sales efforts, relationship development with customers and accounts, including Therapeutic Area Specialists and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
You should possess strong customer, market, and business acumen, combined with in-depth product and disease state knowledge. The role demands strong sales, strategic business development, and account management skills, along with expertise in both virtual and in-person customer engagement. You will work remotely and collaborate with cross-functional teams to address customer needs while compliantly delivering on Pfizer’s business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Drive sales in the assigned territory to maximize approved business objectives.
- Engage with customers both face-to-face and virtually.
- Develop and implement effective business and territory call plans; identify and execute live/virtual engagement strategies to maximize impact.
- Build rapport and relationships with customers in live and virtual environments, utilizing digital tools for successful engagement.
- Leverage internal reports and analytics to identify, develop, and implement strategic business opportunities.
- Compliantly promote products using approved clinically oriented disease state information and patient resources.
- Demonstrate market knowledge, uncovering barriers and drivers across relevant business channels (Public Health, Private Market, Retail, etc.).
- Collaborate effectively and compliantly with cross-functional colleagues, including Field Medical and Account Management, to address customer inquiries and advance Pfizer objectives.
- Complete all administrative expectations on time and compliantly (e.g., entering customer calls, submitting expenses, responding to requests from leadership).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience or High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Professional Sales or Promotional Activity
- Small Business Owner or other Entrepreneurial experience
- Marketing, Customer Service, and/or Account Management
- Relevant Healthcare/Scientific roles (e.g., RN, Pharmacist, PT, OT)
- Educator (e.g., Teacher, Principal)
- Full-time Military experience
- Must live within 25 miles of the border of the territory.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with a driving record compliant with company standards. Any DUI/DWI or impaired driving citation within the past 7 years will disqualify you.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of pharmaceutical, biotech, medical sales, and/or medical-related marketing experience.
- Strong track record of sales or marketing success, territory management, communications, teamwork, leadership, and accountability.
- Experience with the Vaccines therapeutic area and products.
- Knowledge of the assigned territory’s customers and markets (prescribers/HCPs/institutions/organizations).
- Reside within the territory boundaries.
Pay
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $76,000 to $199,600. During initial new-hire sales training, you will be classified as a salary non-exempt employee eligible for overtime pay. Upon training certification, you will become an overtime-exempt employee. This position also offers an additional quarterly Sales Incentive bonus.
