About the role

Funeral Partners are seeking a casual Funeral Service Operative for Kemp & Stevens Funeral Directors in Alton. The role offers variable hours that can be fitted around other commitments. Operatives are often the first team members to meet families, providing reassurance and professional care while preparing loved ones for their final journey.

Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicles (full driving licence required).
• Work in the mortuary, fitting coffins and dressing the deceased.
• Participate in funeral services, including pallbearing.
• Assist with out‑of‑hours and on‑call duties, with opportunity for additional payments.
• Help ensure funeral services run smoothly and respectfully.

Requirements

• Full, valid driving licence.
• Ability to work varied, casual hours and be available for on‑call rota.
• Commitment to completing the online application form with full employment/education history for the past five years.

Pay

£14.23 per hour (includes a £1.23 per hour weighting allowance). Additional payments are available for out‑of‑hours and on‑call work.
