Vacancy for the post of Research Fellow/Field Researcher
The National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP) is recruiting for two Research Fellow positions to work on a project for the research study on "Macroeconomic Modelling of Oil Price Shocks on Indian Economy" with NITI AAYOG. The position is initially for six months, renewal subject to performance and fund availability.
About the role
The successful candidates will contribute to the research study by analyzing macroeconomic impacts of oil price shocks on the Indian economy. They will work closely with a team of economists and policy analysts at NITI AAYOG.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of macroeconomic data related to oil prices and their impact on the Indian economy.
- Develop and refine models to simulate different scenarios of oil price shocks.
- Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing findings and recommendations for policymakers.
- Participate in regular meetings with the research team and provide updates on progress.
Requirements
- PhD in Economics or a related field with a strong background in econometrics and macroeconomics.
- At least 2 years of relevant research experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with statistical software such as R, Python, or Stata.
Qualifications
- Strong academic record with publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Knowledge of international economic issues and policies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
