About the role

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, you will lead and direct the Strategy department’s functions and activities, including strategic planning, monitoring and reporting, project and change management, strategic partnerships and alliances, research, sector and portfolio impact analysis, business continuity planning, and process improvement. Your work will enhance the performance of BDC and its subsidiaries in alignment with its mandate.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the corporate strategy planning and development process, including the review of BDC’s mandate, vision, mission, core values, strategic objectives, internal products, services, and external operating environment, as well as past portfolio performance.
  • Facilitate research on sector trends, forecasts, competitive benchmarking, changes in the macro-economic and micro-economic landscape, technological, social, regulatory, and governance developments that may impact BDC’s portfolio of companies or future investments.
  • Establish partnership frameworks for identifying, developing, building, and maintaining value-adding strategic partnerships to advance BDC’s mandate and strategy agenda.
  • Oversee the management and monitoring of all strategic projects and programs, enforcing policies and processes related to project governance, planning, resourcing, implementation, and management.
  • Drive the assessment of corporate performance against approved strategy and plans, providing feedback to executive management, the Board, and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate consolidated performance measurements, monitoring, and evaluation of the Corporation’s investment portfolio through performance monitoring methodologies, dashboards, and data analytics.
  • Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of investment risk mitigation strategies and policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience at management level in a strategy or business advisory role in a medium-to-large organization, preferably in the financial services sector.
  • Extensive experience in strategy management and leading strategic or transformational projects.
  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Commerce, Finance, or related fields.
