Vac Truck Operator
About the role
Atakapa Services, LLC (A Waggoner Company) is seeking a Vac Truck Operator for our New Orleans operations. We specialize in evaluating, maintaining, and designing rehabilitation methods for sanitary sewer and storm drain infrastructure. Our work involves partnering with municipalities, wastewater utility contractors, and engineering firms to inspect, clean, and rehabilitate underground wastewater and drainage systems. We provide comprehensive services and reports to help clients address complex sewer and storm drain operation and maintenance challenges.
Responsibilities
- Operation of Vacuum Trucks: Safely operate vacuum trucks to collect, transport, and dispose of industrial waste, liquids, sludge, and other materials. Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures during equipment operation.
- Maintenance and Inspection: Conduct routine maintenance checks on vacuum trucks to ensure proper functioning. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify and address any issues promptly.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to each job and material disposal.
- Communication: Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and clients to coordinate job tasks effectively. Communicate any issues or concerns related to equipment or job site conditions promptly.
- Emergency Response: Act as part of the emergency response team in case of spills or accidents, following established protocols. Participate in disaster response efforts, such as hurricanes.
Requirements
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
- Proven experience operating vacuum trucks or similar equipment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
- Willingness to travel for jobs that require multiple days on location.
