Responsibilities
- Perform UXO surface sweeps, UXO subsurface clearances, UXO avoidance, and supporting geophysical/UXO surveys.
- Operate metal detectors proficiently.
- Prepare firing systems, both electric/non-electric, for demilitarization operations.
- Transport demolition materials and/or UXO and DMM determined to be safe over public traffic routes.
- Absorb MPPEH for the presence of explosive hazards.
- Construct UXO-related protective works.
Requirements
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Effective communication skills with clients, regulators, project team members, and company management.
- Minimum 0 - 3 years of commercial UXO experience.
- Knowledge of Geonics EM61-MK2, Trimble GPS/PDA, and CDL with hazmat endorsements is preferred.
- Basic computer skills with MS Windows, MS Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
- Physical & Cognitive Requirements: Ability to lift/move/relocate items up to 50 lbs, prolonged standing, walking long distances, walking over uneven or mountainous terrain, lifting, walking, driving, and working in harsh environments, repetitive hand motions, ability to see details at close range, view computer screen for extended periods, interpret and analyze visual data, operate heavy machinery or tools, driving a company or personal vehicle, climbing ladders or stairs.
- Work Environment Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, travel up to 100%, potential for longer days up to 12 hours in duration, remote work environment, potential for longer days up to 12 hours in duration.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications for Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Technicians and Personnel as outlined in Department of Defense Explosive Safety Board (DDEB) Technical Paper 18.
- Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Geonics EM61-MK2, Trimble GPS/PDA, and CDL with hazmat endorsements; Basic computer skills with MS Windows, MS Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
